Clayton Austin is a true patriot that loves our great Republic. He was called to serve his country as a Blackhawk pilot. Following his retirement, he has now been called to serve his community on the Woodland Park School District Board of Education. From his many conversations throughout the community, Clayton realized his fresh leadership was needed to focus on the responsibility of board governance, the respect for the role and for the people he serves, and the results for students to be prepared, whether that be for the next day, the next grade, or life after high school.
Community conversations often led to the historical reference of decades of dismal decline in enrollment, lackluster performance on State assessments, students ill-prepared for the future, and the divisive rhetoric that's permeated the area for many years. The District is finally making progress towards excellence in academic results. WPSD can't afford to slide back to the mediocrity of years ago. Voting for Clayton Austin is a vote for this fresh forward momentum towards excellence in the District.
